How are Title I funds used at Fairfax Elementary School?
Fairfax Elementary School uses Title I funds to support the following activities:
Employ one full-time teacher to provide more individual and small group academic instruction
Create, print, and distribute parent-school communications such as the parent handbook, postcards, brochures, Early Years and Home & School Connection monthly newsletters, and etcetera.
Integrate digital devices including but not limited to laptops, tablets, MacBook Airs, iPads, iPods, and etcetera into classroom instruction
Intra-district travel and off-site professional development opportunities for the Parent Liaison including but not limited to Francis Marion University Center of Excellence workshops and courses, SC Association of Title I Administration conference, SC State Council International Reading Association meetings workshops and conference, SC Association for Educational Technology conference, International Society for Technology in Education webinars and conference, Parents Leading the Way workshops, Parenting Partners training and workshops, and McKinney-Vento meetings and trainings
Employ one full-time paraprofessional to serve as a Parent Liaison between the school and students’ homes to encourage parental engagement and to provide assistance to students’ families Establish a Parenting Partners initiative through Family Leadership Inc. to include one team of Parenting Partners Facilitators, more than one cohort of Parent Leaders, and catered refreshments, child care provider salaries, and parent incentives
