a student scholarship program that will reward schools that successfully collect blood from donors who are Black, supporting the goal of helping sickle cell patients by diversifying the blood supply, while also promoting access to, and diversity in higher education. The top ten high schools in the country that host at least one blood drive and collect the most units from donors who self-identify as African American (minimum of 50) this school year, will be awarded a $5,000 scholarship. These skills can not only be used in schools to save a life, but also outside of school to help loved ones or someone in need.
