Dear Allendale County School Community,
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to each one of you for your cooperation and support regarding our security and safety measures this week. Your commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment for our scholars is truly commendable.
As we continue to prioritize the safety of everyone on campus, please remember that wand and metal detector use will remain in place. Additionally, a gentle reminder that cell phones are not permitted during instructional hours. If brought to school, they will be confiscated. To avoid any inconvenience, please keep them securely stored in your book bags, purses, or pockets.
We kindly ask that early pick-ups are avoided whenever possible, as consistent attendance is crucial for your scholar's academic progress.
Thank you once again for your understanding and cooperation. Together, we can maintain a safe and conducive learning environment for all.
Have a great weekend and be safe out there!

Students will be screened by wanning, scanning or metal detectors. We are requesting all middle and high school students to wear ID Badges tomorrow. We will have no early releases of students tomorrow. Regular schedule will take as normal. Limited entry to school buildings will be strictly enforced. We encourage you to leave cells at home tomorrow if you do not want it confiscated. Cell phones will be confiscated and placed in a secure location until the end of the day. We encourage you to leave bookbags at home tomorrow.
This is a time for action. We must come together to address the root causes of violence and work tirelessly to ensure the safety of our children. We cannot accept living in fear. I am calling on all community members, local organizations, and law enforcement to collaborate on comprehensive strategies to prevent such tragedies from ever occurring again.
Thank you for your courage and your compassion. Let us move forward, together, with purpose and with hope as we heal our community.
With much respect,
Dr. Vallerie C Cave

Dear Allendale County School District Community,
It is with a heavy heart that I address you today. Recent events have shaken the very foundation of our community: a series of shootings that tragically took the life of one of our students and left another injured. In this moment of profound sorrow, my thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the families and friends of these young individuals, and with each one of you who shares in this grief.
This is a time for us to stand together, not just in mourning, but in unity and resolve. We must support each other, offering comfort and strength to our students, staff, and families who are grappling with fear and loss. Counseling services are available throughout the week for students who need support.
A message from our Superintendent Dr. Cave about the recent gun violence in our community:
Congratulations to Diamond Kearse, of Allendale-Fairfax High School, for passing her LLR State Board exam today. She is now a licensed Cosmetologist! A special thanks to Ms. Danielle Williams for supporting Diamond during her journey.
During the latter part of the presentation, the middle school students got to see first hand what being a JROTC cadet is like. There were stations where they practiced drill routines, learned the creed, folded the flag, and completed physical training. At the end, there was a Q&A segment and exceptional students were recognized for their participation and performance.
Today the AFHS JROTC hosted middle school students for recruitment. The cadets shared their experience with the program and even performed a drill routine which intrigued the students.
Join us on April 30th at 9:30 AM in the AFHS Multipurpose Room for a JROTC ceremony. There will be awards, change of command, and promotion.
Tomorrow we will meet the new JROTC cadets at the Annual AFHS Recruitment Ceremony. The event will start at 10:00 AM and will be held in the AFHS gym.
Tomorrow, April 26th, Allendale-Fairfax Elementary School will be putting on a Snow White play at 6:00 PM in the gymnasium. The Tigers Steel Band will also perform. Admission is only $5.00, so come out to see our students showcase their talents and hard work!
To celebrate our Administrative Professionals, Superintendent Dr. Cave treated them to a VIP experience including a limo ride and delicious breakfast. We are grateful for these individuals who help to manage operations at our schools and offices.
