For Immediate Release:
Fairfax, SC, SEPTEMBER 29, 2021- Allendale County School District announced today that the federal judge’s ruling opens the door for ACSD to have the discretionary authority to require students and staff to wear masks on campus and enforce wearing masks for all persons who enter school premises.
“COVID and other airborne pathogens threaten the lives of our scholars, teachers, and staff and wearing a mask definitely helps to mitigate the spread of this deadly virus, “said Dr. Margaret Gilmore, District Superintendent. “The goal of Allendale County School District is to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for every student.” she said.
Allendale County Schools has placed several plans in place to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in schools. Rapid Reliable Testing, LLC conducts on-site testing for Allendale students twice a week and Vaccine Clinics are offered as well. Greeting Parents! We would like to provide you with a few updates at this time:
In an effort to slow the spread of COVID and keep all of us safe, Allendale County School District has partnered with a COVID-19 Testing Company (DocGo/Rapid Reliable Testing) to come in each week and test our students for COVID. We are hopeful that putting this plan in place will help us to readily identify anyone who may be carrying the virus – whether symptomatic or asymptomatic. All we need from you is to sign the consent form that your child will bring home today and return it to your child’s teacher on Wednesday Sept 15. Each student will receive a $5.00 bill when he/she returns the signed consent form.
Your child will be COVID tested in the auditorium at each school where they will be socially distanced and receive rapid results. If your child tests positive, the company will call you immediately.
Any student who is vaccinated does not have to be COVID tested each week.
School Districts across SC are putting these measures in place to mitigate the spread of the virus.
Parents, thank you so much for returning the consent form and helping us STOP the spread of COVID 19.

Good Afternoon Tiger Family,
Over the last several days, the district has experienced an uptick in the number of COVID-19 positive cases across the district, which has resulted in students and staff having to quarantine. Because of the increase in positive cases across the district and after consulting with DHEC, they have recommended that the district transitions to eLearning/virtual learning effective Friday, August 27 through Wednesday, September 8. Students will complete all assignments from home from August 27-Sept. 8th and will return to face-to-face instruction on Thursday, September 9, 2021.
All schools, district office and buses will undergo a deep cleaning for students and staff to return safely on Thursday, September 9th. These measures are put in place to ensure the safety and well-being of our students, staff, parents and the entire community. Lunches will be delivered on Tuesday and Thursday of next week to specified drop off locations.
All athletic practices and competitions are suspended until September 8th.
Thank you,
Dr. M. Gilmore, Superintendent
