Let's celebrate these parents for competing the Parenting Partners Workshop! The program covered a variety of topics including structure, communication, and discipline. In addition to learning skills from the facilitators, the parents also taught each other. They were able to build bonds that will last beyond the class. A special thanks to Ms. Phaniki Jenkins for starting the initiative and organizing the event.

Congratulations to the recent graduates of our Parenting Partners Workshop! Over the course of six sessions, these dedicated parents have explored key parenting topics. Their achievement benefits not only themselves, but also the school, community, and, most importantly, the children. We are excited to see how this program continues to strengthen the connection between home and school. #TogetherWeCanDoThis #BuildingBridges #StrongerTogether

ATTENTION ATTENTION: Parents, due to the immediate change in weather in the surrounding areas, we will now be dismissing ALL students at 10:30 AM. Thank you for your understanding and please stay safe!

The latest weather forecasts indicate that conditions are more severe than initially predicted. As a result, we will be having a half day to ensure the safety of all our students and staff. While this is not what we had originally planned, student safety must always come first. Our students have just returned from break, and we understand the importance of instructional time. Early dismissal is as follows: Elementary: 11:45am Middle/High School: 12:45pm District Office will close at 1:15 pm. School staff will dismiss immediately after the buses. We ask that you make arrangements for early pickup today if your child does not ride a bus. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. Please stay safe, and monitor the local news for any further weather updates. Best regards, Superintendent Dr. Vallerie Cave

Out of abundance of caution, we will be cancelling all athletic events and afterschool programs on tomorrow, 1/10/25. This is due to the potential threat of inclement weather expected to hit low country South Carolina on Friday evening. Please note that we will still have normal school hours tomorrow.

We are excited to announce a new addition to our team here at Allendale County School District. Dexter Jones Jr. will be joining us as a kindergarten teacher at Allendale-Fairfax Elementary School. Mr. Jones is a recent graduate from Claflin University and has earned a Service Leader award. He is originally from Waynesboro, GA, but he looks forward to making a difference here in Allendale, SC.

As part of our Stop the Violence grant, we attended a session on gang violence. SLED officer Riveria spoke about his personal experience pursuing gang members and gave valuable insight. His presentation sparked a deeper conversation amongst staff about how we can identify and discipline our troubled students.

An agent from the South Carolina State Accident Fund visited the district office to discuss the causes and consequences of work related accidents. The data he shared was shocking, but a helpful reminder of why safety is so important. We also learned steps we can take to make our campuses more safe for our staff and students alike.

With the South Carolina cellphone ban taking effect, Superintendent Dr. Vallerie Cave met with administrators. During the meeting they reviewed data that revealed how cellphones contribute to bullying, depression, and cheating. This is why it is important to limit cellphone use during school hours. Although we have already been enforcing a strict no cellphone policy, we want to ensure we stay compliant and up to date.

In preparation of our students' return, we have been engaging in professional development to enhance our knowledge and skills. As we expand our Stop the Violence initiative, it's crucial to educate everyone in the district on the procedures and solutions to ensure consistent and effective outcomes. Dr. Hicks, a Clemson University representative, came to share the mission and strategy behind the program.

Ms. Busby encourages our students in our alternative program to express their creativity. For the holidays, they handmade these wreaths that added holiday sparkle and cheer to the building. These creations highlight the power of thinking outside the box and embracing the joy of the season. In the spirit of giving, they even gifted Superintendent Dr. Cave with her own wreath to have. #12DaysofFestiveFlair #CreativeMinds #StudentArt

The district office brought holiday magic to life with a festive Holiday Potluck! The celebration was filled with delicious food, contagious laughter, and the spirit of the season. Here's to creating memories and spreading holiday cheer with loved ones! #SeasonOfJoy #12DaysOfFestiveFlair #HolidayPotluck
