We are grateful to have a strong team of substitutes here at Allendale County School District. Our Chief of Human Resources, Dr. Miller, has trained our subs to be well-prepared whenever duty calls. This ensures that when our teachers need to step out, our substitutes can step in without missing a beat. We appreciate each of you for your flexibility, dedication, and commitment to keeping our classrooms thriving.

Coach Lewis invited parents to Helmet Night to help our football players decorate their gear. It was more than just about uniforms, it was a chance to build community and fellowship. With our helmets on and our village behind us, the season is off to a strong start. We’re hopeful for a season full of growth, teamwork, and success!
We are grateful for all the encouragement we received from our parents at Helmet Night. Our athletes perform better when their parents show up, and we appreciate everyone who took the time to come out. Parent support is the foundation of our program, and we’re excited to hit the field this season with our community behind us!
Parents, join us as we gear up for the upcoming football season! We will be decorating and issuing football helmets at 5:00 PM in the AFHS Cafeteria. You will have the opportunity to strap on the helmets for a photo op and fellowship with the team and coaches. We hope to see you there!

Allendale-Fairfax Elementary School is excited to announce that through its collaboration with Family Solutions and its partners, we will be able to provide weekend food powerpacks for our students! A special thanks to Tiffine Forester, Gwen Walker, Tonia Capers, Carolyn Lyles, Lamikka Samuel (Senior Director of Family Solutions), Tracy Golden and Romaine Stephens for personally packing and delivering the bags to our school yesterday. This initiative was possible through community partners who helped provide the food items for the powerpacks. We appreciate each of you for your kind acts of service and support of our district.
Every year at AFHS, we allow our Seniors to dress down on the first day of school. This years long tradition is a privilege reserved only for graduating seniors. We admire all the creativity they put into their unique outfits and custom pieces! We hope that the Class of 2026 has a promising year!

What an exciting start to the school year! At AFES, our theme is, "Growing Minds Under Construction" and we’re ready to help our scholars build bright futures! Students were met by teachers, administrators, and our Superintendent Dr. Cave as they entered this morning. Although the day is often bittersweet for parents, we always look forward to welcoming our students back!

The second day of our Teaching and Learning Institute provided valuable information and insight for our teachers to carry with them throughout the school year. There was a Frog Street training for our elementary educators and a co-teaching session led by representatives from the SC State Department. Mrs. Jones offered wisdom to each of our teachers, inspiring them to teach passionately, but also make time for their own self-care. Our teachers also learned how to use Atlas, our new platform for uploading and creating lesson plans. We are excited to see how all the new strategies and technologies will be implemented this year!
Day one of our Teaching and Learning Institute was filled with productive growth and meaningful engagement. Paraprofessionals eagerly participated in an insightful session led by Superintendent Dr. Cave, where they explored the many roles they fulfill. Mrs. Busby highlighted the importance of customer service to our food service team, reminding them of the vital role they play. Staff also received an interactive Promethean board training to build confidence with our new technology. We also welcomed trainers from i-Ready and Discovery Education to lead high-quality workshops and ensure our team receives the best professional development possible.
Our annual Back to School Bash was a success! We're proud to provide free backpacks and school supplies to every scholar we serve. There was also free food, bounce houses, DJ booth , and a gaming truck for families to enjoy! Thank you to all our vendors for showing up and giving back, even in the scorching heat. When our local partners show up for our children, it shows them that the entire Allendale community believes in their potential and growth. If your child didn’t receive a backpack, please make sure they’re registered so they can receive one on the first day of school.

We want our students to return to a district that’s even better than when they left. Our head of departments shared their visions for the school year with principals, so that we can all be in alignment. We are looking forward to our best year yet at Allendale County Schools!
