NOTICE OF INTENT TO DESTROY RECORDS
On December 15, 2023, Allendale County Schools Special Education Department, 3249 Allendale-Fairfax Hwy, Fairfax, SC 29827, will be destroying the Special Education Records of students whose special education services ended more than five years ago. For more information or to arrange pick up of records, you may call Mrs. Tenia Creech at (803) 584-4603, ext. 1130.These records will not be shipped. An individual 18 years of age or older, unless adjudicated, must request his/her own records. Proper identification is required. After December 15, 2023, if no one has retrieved the records, the Department of Special Education will assume that they wish for the records to be destroyed.
We appreciate everyone who attended the Veteran's Day Program including Principal Hall, Superintendent Dr. Cave, and guest speaker, Terrance Thomas. Thomas left us with a powerful message. "If serving is beneath you, then leading is above you." He also received an award for his service. We especially want to thank the veterans for their presence and sacrifice.
The Allendale-Fairfax High School JROTC held a program to commemorate Veteran's Day. Their impressive performances were an honorable tribute to the veterans that so bravely served our country.
Some of our 9th and 10th grade students attended the New Life Center Fair where they learned about job opportunities, mental health, and the dangers of alcohol. The event included games and food and our students were excited to learn about their future possibilities.
Due to inclement weather, the 2nd Annual Golf Tournament has been postponed to November 18th at 9am. So there is still time to sign up and support the AFHS JROTC and Bow Tie Club! Please contact Stanley Rogers or Norman Fisher to register.
Allendale County Schools will offer Thanksgiving Dinners for $5 each on Thursday, November 16th. Parents and guardians will have the opportunity to each lunch with their child(ren) at the designated times. If interested, please RSVP and submit payment to your school by 3:00 PM on Tuesday, November 14th.
Today, our administrators and instructional leaders had an in-depth training on observation feedback. This session was led by Superintendent Dr. Cave and included simulations and brainstorms that will help improve both our leaders and teachers.
Tomorrow, the AFHS JROTC will be having a program at 9:30 AM in honor of Veteran's Day.

Allendale-Fairfax Middle School celebrated students who made high achievements for the 1st quarter. Students were awarded for Academic Excellence, Perfect Attendance, Most Improved, and Best Character. The ceremony would have not been successful without the support of the teachers, administrators, students, and parents.
With the 2nd Annual Golf Tournament days away, registration will be closing soon. Please contact Norman Fisher or Stanley Rogers for a spot in the tournament. All proceeds will go to the AFHS Bow Tie Club and JROTC.
JRTOC will be having a Veteran's Day Program this Friday at 9:30 AM in the AFHS Gymnasium. We invite any veterans from the community to attend, so that their sacrifice can be honored and remembered.
