Congratulations to Mr. Coby Brandyburg for earning the title of Coach of the Year for Region 7A! This is an honor well deserved as Coach Brandyburg is an amazing coach both on and off the court.

To celebrate Read Across America Week, Allendale-Fairfax Elementary School hosted a reading marathon where the students enjoyed read alouds. Teachers, staff, and members of the community participated, including our very own, Superintendent Dr. Cave.

The game was funny, yet intense. After going into overtime, the teachers ultimately prevailed and won 22-20.

On Friday, the AFHS Senior Class hosted a teachers vs students basketball fundraiser. The game was all in good fun, and onlookers were hysterical and amused.

This is the fifth week of our Cooking Matters program! With the help of the instructor, children prepared a fresh mango salsa. The purpose of these classes is to familiarize our students with proper cooking techniques, while expanding their culinary palette. We are so grateful that we can offer our students this opportunity thanks to our partnership with Clemson University.

Students from Howard University came to visit Allendale-Fairfax High School. The college students are here to help our students prepare for the transition into college and life post graduation.

Thank you to all the students, teachers, administrators, and honored guests who participated and attended Thursday's Black History program. This event was a showcase of black culture and art and was the perfect ending to Black History Month.

During Thursday's Black History program, several students did reenactments of historical Black figures such as James Brown, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Barack Obama, and Rosa Parks.

Dr. Cave has created a Student Advisory Committee. She consults with the students to hear their ideas and concerns so she can address the matters that are important to them.

Our Elementary School held a Black History Program. Students performed speeches, songs, and dances to commemorate individuals who used their art to combat resistance and racism.
